Hello,
2015’s financial statements of the company I have selected are not published yet . So to analyse for three years period , I was planning to take figures of 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011. But, now I found out that 2011’s annual reports are not available either. So I took comparative figures from the financial statements of 2012 and used them as 2011’s figures.
Is it correct and enough?
Please advice!December 24, 2015 at 5:30 pm #292711Hi Trephena,
Since now we have to choose a company operating only within the specified industry. What if a company is diversified. The company I had chosen operates in mobile telecommunications but operates in several other related industries too.The mobile telecommunications sector alone generates around 58% operating profit and around 54% net sales, but it comprises only around 27% of total assets. I have tried to go with other companies operating in the industry, but most of them are widely diversified.
Any help would be appreciated much.Thank you
November 6, 2015 at 3:14 am #280722Hi,
I am conducting research on topic no 8. The company i have chosen adopts IFRS whereas all major competitors use US GAAP.I understand that I can use them by explaining the limitations. However I am unsure about how much descriptive should it be.
And, there is one company which uses IFRS but does not operate in one of the business segment as the main company. The segment comprises around 22 % of total revenue and more than 40% of operating profit.
I am confused which one should I pick up as a competitor. Thanks!!
November 5, 2015 at 3:13 pm #280618Hi,
I was searching a suitable competitor for Samsung electronics which is the basis of my RAP.I am conducting research on topic no 8( Financial and Business analysis of a company). I found out that SONY and other companies like Toshiba, Panasonic( these have got similar business structure) all have march financial year end, where as Samsung electronics has December year end. Can anyone guide me how to use the data for ratio analysis. Is it possible to deduct the annual figures[finanacial statements] from the previous quarterly[ Q1,Q2 and Q3] reports to get the last quarter figures ?
Thanks!!
