Please tell us in which country you live, and what work do you do.
I live in Tanzania. I currently serve as audit assistant at PKF International. I am currently self-studying ACCA.
How much time each week did you spend studying, on average?
My working hours are quite long, so the only time I have to study is during the weekends. I spend about 4 hours on each weekend which suits me well.
Which study resources did you use?
I am currently self-studying ACCA, but I primarily used the Kaplan study text together with the BPP revision kit. I also watched all the videos from Opentuition.com by John Moffat. Furthermore, I also found the ‘Ask the Tutor’ function to be extremely useful and hope Opentuition continues this feature. I also bought and solved the ACCA Practice tests online.
Did you get support from your firm?
Unfortunately, I do not receive any financial support for my examinations. However, I did manage to get 1 week of study leave prior to my exam.
What was your approach to your studying?
I read the entire chapter and subsequently solved all the questions in the revision kit. Three days before the exam, I solved all the ACCA Practice Tests and averaged at about 89%.
What would you say was the most important factor that helped you to achieve such a high mark?
Practice…practice…practice! Solve as many questions as possible.
How did you find out about OpenTuition, and which of our resources did you use?
I just googled ‘free ACCA resources’. I watched all the lecture videos by John and used ‘Ask the Tutor’.

The F2 exam is not tougher than the kit. You definitely are not solving the kit. You’re probably reading the question and answer. Solve the kit. the whole kit. And then mark it. and then review all of it. Even things you got right. Read the full explanation answer. and then solve it again. and then mark it. and then review what you got wrong,
And then one week before the exam do the 3 mock tests from thew kit. I know bpp has these tests.
So 7 days to exam. Do the first mock and mark it and review it. And then attempt it again same day and mark it
6 days to exam do the second one. Same thing
5 days to exam do the third one. Same thing.
Then 4 days to exam review all the mock tests you did.
3 days to exam solve the first and second mock tests and review them
2 days to exam solve the final mock test again and review it.
then one day before the exam just review your mistakes you made when doing the kit and the mistakes you made doing the mocks.
On the day of the exam just read through the whole of the third mock exam. question and answer.
