AAA Exam Marking Exercise Feedback - ACCA Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
Many students who fail the AAA exam are puzzled why they failed when they felt that they had written good enough answers. Maybe marks were lost due to lack of knowledge or misunderstanding what the question was asking for. Obviously the ACCA does not provide that information for individual candidates.
We are unable to provide a marking service, but what we have produced a lecture showing how exam answers are marked, using actual students’ answers and explaining where marks would be gained and where (and why) marks would not be awarded.

Dear Kim, I found the second part of question (a) relating to investment property to be very unspecific as to, what specific date the revaluation model was adopted.
Hence I initially struggled to calculate the error of 25K, as I missed the hint in the question stating " to benefit from any increases in property valuations" so I assumed that the property was revalued on 31 March 20X5 and stated that there was an error of 30K which should have been taken to OCI at reporting date. In my humble opinion this is a very vague manner of conveying to the exam candidate that the revaluation model was adopted at the beginning of the year, hence it did waste a considerable amount of my time as it left me confused.
Is my concern justified? or do I need to improve on picking up such hints
And if I do make a mistake in my calculations, will I be marked down considerably? (Assuming I have correctly classified the error as per accounting standards, only making a mistake in calculation)
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance!

We do need our answers to me critiqued this way, otherwise how do we learn?
I have read read the mind of the marker but put aside as I didn't feel I gained much.
I gained much more from this session!
