Beyond delighted to have passed.
I would have bet a lot of money my result was between 45 and 60 but I got in the 70s. All I can say is they marked it pretty generously!!!
This was my last exam, so thanks and goodbye OpenTuition!!
January 17, 2025 at 1:43 am #714651Passed with 4 weeks preparation!!
I was working as well.
Over the moon! But I spent 10 hours a day studying.
I am CPA qualified. All the best to all. Those who failed never give up.
Attempt all questions and work out past papers..that’s the key for passing.
January 17, 2025 at 5:58 am #71466378% first attempt, am now an affiliate! Only Spent 3 months learning the syllabus whilst working full time, Open tuition has been invaluable every step of the way. Thank you!
January 17, 2025 at 9:15 am #714686Passed! 1st attempt. Thank you Mr. John and Opentuition for the best lectures for self-studying!
My advise who studying this subject now:
1) understand all technical concepts very well and you’llbe able to apply this to every question. Don’t spend lots of time to revise topics you already know good, just go further. For example, if you are already pro in NPV from FM – don’t waste your time for revision of this with many questions again, NPV is usually all the same, just follow scenario. Only new thing on AFM for NPV questions it’s double taxation, forex, and different way to present tax allowable depreciation. It is not as difficult as sounds. Just few more techniques for NPV;
2) don’t ignore topics that you don’t really like and understand. For example, I didn’t really like collars, and I got them on exam. Oh wish I studied this properly! Anyway, I passed thanks god. But could earn more marks. Sometimes these few marks need you to pass!
3) Writing, professional marks. This exam gives you quite a lot of marks for professional skills, and your writing application. Just write as much as you can. Even you think it’s something unfamiliar, take a breath and remember real-life cases and write common sense things.January 17, 2025 at 4:26 pm #7147341st Attempt and Passed.

January 21, 2025 at 10:03 am #714869Awesome!
January 21, 2025 at 6:07 pm #714883Passed with 50%.
My suggestion is: (Don’t do the mistake which I did).
Suggestions are:Investment Appraisal is our best friend
Risk is our 2nd best friend
Please Don’t trust Merger/Acq & Corp Rest (Our Biggest Enemy)So prepare IA and then risk and leave M/A+CR for the end because this question will puzzle you always.
In paper do first theory parts for each question(because i did mistake of solving numerical and wasted alot of time).
Try to solve atleast 85-90% of paper.
I solved only for 67-70 marks (That was one of my mistake).
Do atleast 10 past papers.
Theory theory theory – I just passed because of theory + professional marks (Never miss them) - AuthorPosts
