I have read through the ACCA website on “Making the best Options choices” and “study support resources”. I’ve also looked at the mock and past exam questions available on the ACCA Practice Platform to get an idea on what I will have to answer should I select them. However, I am still struggling to make my mind up.
Is there any quiz or tree map which could direct me on where my interests lie, or what I might be better at?
(Other than making the decisions based on the scores received in Applied Skills stage, or what I did not like the most? Reason: because they were all equally bad!)
I understand that no quizzes nor tree maps can be a true reflection of what I want or need, but I need some sort of independent guidance.
I know that some people might tell me to do compulsory exams first, but one of the reasons I’d rather do them after the options papers is because I don’t want to be locked into them.
For instance, if I fail, then I’ll be compelled to keep doing that because I have to pass it anyway, whereas if I become demotivated after failing the options paper, then at least I could try a different options paper as a back-up plan to re-motivate me.
By the way, I am not interested on the status of obtaining a practising certificate or not, so I am more interested on whether I will be good at answering the exam questions and am more likely to pass on the first (or minimal) attempt.
