Hello open tution,
I am an ex ACCA student, i resigned from ACCA due to some personal reason.
I wanted to ask that as i have resigned from ACCA student register, if i wish to re-register i would have to pay the Only the reinstatement fees and would not have to pay the fees between the year i resign and re-register.
But if i resign again after I become a Fully qualified ACCA member later, then do i need to pay the subscription fees in between the year i resign and re-register?Because in the ACCA portal it is written that if its your first resignation you won’t have to pay the outstanding fees in between the year of resignation and re-registration but if you resign again for the second time we have to pay the fees in the years between.
So i am clear about this part. But i have query about that is STUDENT RESIGNATION CONSIDERED DIFFERENT THAN THAT OF THE MEMBER RESIGNATION?
As a student i have resigned once so its considered first resignation.
But later if i resign again after i become a qualified ACCA member then will it be considered my second resignation?September 13, 2023 at 2:15 pm #691992This page re student re-registration does not say anything about “first” or “second” re-registration https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/getting-started/re-registration.html
Basically, if fees have already fallen due before a student resigns, they will have to be paid in order to re-register. Annual subscription fees do not accrue for years not on the register.
There is a similar rule for members https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/help/membership-b.html – again, it says nothing about “first” or “second” resignation:
“Members or affiliates who have previously resigned from the ACCA register
You will be required to pay any unpaid sums at the time of resignation and the current year’s subscription and a reinstatement fee. Those members with an outstanding annual CPD declaration must also complete the declaration section on page 6 of the reinstatement form.”September 14, 2023 at 2:38 pm #692022Thankyou for your reply

In the following link under the tab removal of non payment of subscription fees,
It is mentioned about the first and second resignation.
Can you help me what this is about then?September 14, 2023 at 3:26 pm #692026The waiver of fees for years off the register applies only once.
September 15, 2023 at 2:23 am #692045So that is what my query is about.
Here it mentions about the first and second time we are off the register.
But does this apply in my case too?
Because it mentions about removal of non- payment of subscription fees.
But in my case I had resigned by sending them mail .
So should i consider removal and resigning both as different?
I tried mailing ACCA on this but our communication isn’t clear enough to solve my doubt.
It would be really helpful if you could help me with this.September 15, 2023 at 10:34 am #692066As there appear to be two registers – student and affiliate/members – and each has their own rules, my interpretation would be that a deregistration from the student register does not count as a deregistration from the members register.
But to be honest – you should be following this up with ACCA for clarity, since I do not know your circumstances or what question you asked – nor ACCA’s response.
September 18, 2023 at 7:09 am #692166I tried to contact ACCA but the communication isn’t clear enough.
Basically my question to them was that as i have resigned from ACCA as a student i dont have to pay the fees for the years i was absent from the register.
But in future if i resign again after becoming a qualified ACCA member then whole re -registering will i have to pay fees for the years i was not part of member register?
Your communication feels more clearer to me .
Thankyou for that. - AuthorPosts
