Hi,
I’ve just discovered opentuition do not offer support for the ATX paper for reasons which are perfectly understandable.
My intention was always to choose the ATX option paper in addition to AFM. In the last few days I have now questioned this – as I self study and have relied on opentuition immensely which I see as a valuable resource to supplement my study material.
The reasons for choosing ATX are due to a number of factors.
1. I performed better and found the TX paper less stressful than PM and AA.
2. I feel the ATX paper to be more relevant/useful than the other 2. It has no connection to any area I want to specialise in – my goal is to simply pass using the easiest path.
3. The exam pass rates for ATX are (marginally) higher than for APM or AAA – while I know this shouldn’t be relied upon when deciding – I believe it is a factor to consider.I’ve certainly ruled out AAA. While I’m not a big fan of APM either I am now considering taking this instead of ATX for 2 reasons – open tuition support and the overlap with SBL which I performed well in.
If I do go ahead with ATX – I would have to find another online tuition provider to replace opentuition as I don’t think I can rely purely on study material. Any recommendations for tuition welcome.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I’ve always liked a mix of technical and narrative which I think ATX complements – but at the same time I’ve also heard about the pitfalls including an extremely large syllabus to cover.
Many thanks
June 13, 2023 at 10:52 am #686984I suggest you familiarise yourself with the huge volume of free resources for ATX that are already available from ACCA https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p6.html
Then if you sign up to SA direct https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/sa/student-accountant-direct.html (if you haven’t already done so), I believe you can tailor your interest in specific exams so you will get alerts as and when new resouces become available.

“ACCA Study Hub – preparing for global launch
The ultimate study resource, ACCA Study Hub, is being launched in July. This new digital platform gives exclusive access to ACCA’s own study materials on web and mobile and helps you streamline your revision with study chapters, flashcards, quizzes and practice questions.”This will include ATX-UK.
Look out for further details on the ACCA Study Hub in the coming weeks.

I will need to also look at other tuition providers but until then – would it be useful to go over TX open tuition lectures/notes as a refresh and is there any particular area/lecture I should be concentrating on?
June 18, 2023 at 8:05 am #687196My apologies for the late response. Can you please ask in the ask the TX tutor forum.
