Rationale: Affiliation is actually a category in another need model by David McClelland. The other options are Maslow’s (although freedom of inquiry and expression overarches the hierarchy itself).Sir, I also think that the answer should be (B) but the book says the answer is (C).
can u explain whyIf you Google ‘Maslow hierarchy affiliation’ you will find lots of references which have as a need: social, belonging, affiliation etc. I have always used the terms interchangeably. McClelland uses affiliation but to all intents and purposes this is ‘…creating and maintaining SOCIAL relationships, enjoy being a part of groups, and have a desire to feel loved and accepted (Wikipedia)
Social and affiliation are effectively synonyms.
If you Google ‘Maslow hierarchy freedom of inquiry and expression needs’ you don’t get a lot of references to those needs. If, in a later version of the theory’ freedom of inquiry and expression needs are brought in as overarching the hierarchy then they are not part of the hierarchy.
I think the answer is wrong……or the question is badly worded.
I stick with my original reply that the answer is (b)
