According to ACCA’s website, FA1 and MA1 are broadly equivalent to GCSEs and FA2 and MA2 are broadly equivalent to A levels. And so my question is that, if I have already done GCSEs (with accounting) and not done A levels, do I really need to cover FA1 and MA1 being registered as an FIA student? In other words, can I straightly cover FA2 and MA2 then FBT, FMA and FFA then still be able to transfer on to the ACCA qualification?Also, according to what I have ‘heard’ from people, the four FIA subjects are not mandatory…doing the last 3 only would still enable us to transfer on to the ACCA qualification. I am not sure if this is completely right which is why I wanted to clarify whether it is fine not to do FA1 and MA1.

Because the progress for FIA students on their acca account shows that there are 9 exams to complete…
I have only done GCSEs so I don’t really understand the need to do the introductory level.

Like any professional qualification, ACCA must have minimum entry requirements, which include A levels. FiA offers pathways to those that do not meet the minimum requirements.
