What is right issue
And I don’t understand this one “250 million shares in issue after a rights issue of one for four would mean that 50 million shares were issued (250,000 x 1/5).”
Is it not 4 ordinary shares = 1 new shares so there will be more 250/4=62.5 shares
ThanksThe 250 million shares are stated as being after the rights issue.
For every 4 shares there were before the rights issue they issued 1 more. So then they had 5 after the rights issue. So number of shares issued is 1/5 of the number there were after the issue.
So……they must have issued 50 million shares. (They had 200 million before the issue, they issued 50 million, and ended up with 250 million after the issue).
