Please, I want to find out whether a person without any prior qualification qualifies to ignore FA1, FA2, MA1, MA2 and straightforward start the Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) at FBT, FMA and FFA. So that afterwards the person gets exemption from BT, MA, FA and continue at ACCA F4. Thank you very much.
November 25, 2022 at 11:39 am #672555Welcome to our forums! OK, so FiA seeks to meet the needs of those who don’t meet the minimum entry requirements for the professional ACCA qualification (shown here https://www.accaglobal.com/ca/en/qualifications/glance.html)
If you have no formal qualification, ACCA certainly recommends that you start with FA1/FA2 then FA2/MA2, then FFA/FMA/FBT – the advantage of this is that topics that are highly examinable in FFA/FMA (which, together with FBT provide the underpinning knowledge for all the later exams).
However, it is understandable that students should not want to spend too long on the intro and intermediate certificates (and avoid the costs of sitting exams) – though that can be a false economy if it means spending longer on FFA/FMA or giving up on it.
But to answer your question, yes, you can choose where you want to start with FiA. Why not take a look at our notes here to help you decide what might be right for you? https://opentuition.com/fia
