Dear Tutor I am having problem with another question from kaplan. Can you help me please
A matrix structure aims to combine the advantages of which of the following structures?
A. Functional and divisional
B. Entrepreneurial and functional
C. Product/division/department and geographical
D. Functional and geographical
The answer is A. But I’m hesitating with the answer C because I read on the BPP workbook that a matrix organisation crosses a functional with a product/customer/ project structure.
Thanks in advance
Matrix structures are 2-dimensional, so C implies 4 dimensions.
A is correct. In one direction you report to your functional boss eg the IT manager; in the other direction you report to a divisional or project manager.
Thank you for answering my query ?
