Personally, I often find it difficult to separate the two and different articles seem to define each differently. The main difference is that VBM seeks to improve shareholder value (that’s the management part) whilst SVA seeks to understand and measure what shareholders value.
The article above states that shareholder value analysis won’t be specifically examined in APM.
