Failed in AccA more than 25 times

I hope all of you are doing well

    I need your guidance.

I am going through a very difficult and painful time..sometimes I think very negatively..and nowadays only negative thoughts are running in my mind.

in fact I am a student of AccA..and a student only

I started my journey many years ago..when qualification used to happen CAT..in May 2009

And no one in the history of AccA has seen more failure than me..

Started CAT..passed 4 papers..in 1st attempt..then FIA scheme came up..so first 3 exams F1,2 and 3 got exempted and I started attempting next papers. And only failure is destined from there on. All mistakes are my own.

Time kept running out, papers kept failing.. F4 passed in first attempt.. then i failing from there on. Failed 8 times in F5..F6 also the same.. then finally passed in these 2 exams.

Gave F7 twice and F8 twice.

Time passed like this..years came and went..For some 4,5 years I kept giving F9..and kept failing..and didn’t do anything else..so 10 years passed like this..Due to my unworthiness.

Then i joined an audit firm in 2019.

I worked there for 2 years and got corona.. so I left.

Then a friend of mine said there is a job in dubai and he demanded 3 lacs rupees and the visa ticket and accomodation cost was all mine approximately 6 lacs i spent for this job.

When I went there, I found out that it was a fraud. After 2 days, I was expelled from the office.

Now the debt is on the head.. and i have nothing to do..

Also i lied to my family that i have only 2 exams to go but actually 7 exams are to be attempted

    It has become very difficult..

Now i am thinking to complete AccA

By working hard day and night..pass the remaining 7 exams in 1 year.

But the problem is that I am 32 years old.

The situation at home is very bad.

All family members are very worried..I want to die now..I am from middle class..Can’t start any other work or business.

    Please guide me

    what should i do..

Help me.please,Guide me..what should i do now.Your guidence will be highly appreciated.

Dear Rohail, my name is Kim and I “look after” this forum. I am away from my office this week so please accept my apologies for this later than usual response.

Believe me when I say I have known many students who have taken many many years and attempts to complete ACCA. 32 is not too old!

Let me be honest with you. 7 exams in one year though not impossible may be too ambitious. If I can suggest anything to you it is that you keep the past behind you and look forward.

Please see here https://opentuition.com/acca/plan-your-acca-exam-journey to help you get started with a plan how to work through the remaining exams. On this site you will find everything except ATX and it is for free. The only thing we recommend you buy is an approved content provider’s revision kit … though depending on the exam there may be sufficient question practice in the CBE platform.

We cannot resolve all your issues but we can and will help you pass ACCA exams.

As well as this OpenTuition community and our resources and tutor advice, ACCA has wellbeing support for students here http://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/student/wellbeing.html

There are a lot of excellent ACCA study resources too to help you prepare for each exam http://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources.html  The
“Essentials on One page” resource is a good place to start. If you tell me which exam you plan to start with I can help direct you to other specific resources.

If you can afford a revision course with an Approved Learning Partner you may find it beneficial to have a tutor and other students you can talk to in person.

There are more reasons than I can possibly write here but I think you need to take someone, if not everyone, in your family into your confidence. There will be more support there than you will ever know if you don’t.

Rohail, I too failed numerous time in ACCA but you should never give up.

I finally cleared all the papers when I get serious and start to stay focus. Attempt the remaining papers one at a time. There is no need to rush because ACCA is tough.

Sometimes it is not about studying, it is about exam techniques and doing past year papers a lot more. In the end, I was focused on how to tackle the question and how to write answers that matches the question requirement.

There’s plenty of free lectures in youtube focusing on exam techniques.

Hihi Rohail, you just 32 years old, I told you that I already almost reach 40, but I still kept failed with APM, don’t know why but I try to face the exam again because it is my existing target to finish!!!

Please don’t give up!!! Many of us are facing the same problem!!! Exams are very hard but after you passed all then you will be the professional!!!

You are not alone! at least I’m same with you right?!

If you feel very confuse on this moment, then give yourself a short three months break to relax and start exam again.

GOOD LUCK WITH ME AND YOU!!!

    Winnie

I know this reply may be late. Hey, I failed an exam 6 times, passed on the seventh attempt.. Believe me when I say I know your frustrations and depression. I wanted to give up too… I was so frustrated and stressed, I gained a lot of weight, lost my confidence and was stuck in “nobody land” for up to 6 years later.. Because I was too scared to keep going..
But an exam is not the beginning nor the end of your life. Take a break, breathe and focus on something else, and if after the time has passed and you have a yearning to re-start then do it..
