Dear Kim, I hope you are well. I found out about CA by ICAEW and how well its recognized in UK. I have completed my ACCA papers till Financial reporting excluding tax and this time i am preparing for audit and assurance. I am really confused between those two qualifications. Becz when i checked the salary info for ICAEW on its official site its avg. in uk was aroung 134,000 pounds per year according to 2022 research and For acca its barely half. Can a ACCA sign audit books ? is it identical to ICAEW ? Are Acca just certified accountants or Charted accountants ? and is it worth it to pursue ICAEW after ACCA ?
I felt my studies will take much more than expected if i to take icaew exams. and felt so confused in my career like never before. can you please advise me about here ? Its not related to Audit and assurance in any way but I got really doubtful about my carrer path.Hello! I have both designations ACA (ICAEW) and FCCA (ACCA). The qualifications are EQUIVALENT! There is nothing to be gained by ICAEW membership… only HUGE fees as compared with ACCA.
Yes ACCA member can sign an auditor’s report with a practicing certificate as can ICAEW, ICAS and ICAI.
ACCA is chartered.

ACCA is the most global qualification for accountancy. ACCA will support you with CPD throughout your professional career. Especially if you are currently working in Africa, ACCA is the most recognised qualification and it can take you to many countries. ACA is little known outside the UK
