Hey guys i just recently gave my TX -uk remote exam from turkey. I had some technical issues during the exam. My screen just kept going blank for a few minutes each time. Well it only did twice but a lot of my time was wasted contacting the invigilator and trying to resolve the issue. I barely completed around 15% of the exam. The invigilator gave me 2 options: 1) continue with exam despite the issue. 2)the invigilator terminates the exam and sends out a report to ACCA.
Due to the time wasted i decided it would be better if i chose the latter. I know that i have the option to rebook or withdraw and i would like to withdraw. BUT there are 2 things im concerned about.
1) what if the issue was on my part. in my computer. did anyone else have any issue similar to this. all the issues i read online relate to internet connectivity. And i read on ACCA’s website that misuse of post exam options can lead to ‘disciplinary action’.
2) i sent an email to acca about this and i was told that ACCA would ‘consider’ my application. what does that mean? have any of you all been refused a withdrawal request??September 9, 2022 at 7:35 am #665855As you say you sat the exam remotely you should have the option to withdraw in your exam planner
This page explains eligibility for withdrawal. If eligible, I think you should be able to withdraw yourself. Please look at the link and try.
Misuse of the post-exam option would be, for example, that a student decides they don’t like it and quits the exam claiming technical issues that they didn’t have. This clearly doesn’t apply to you.

September 9, 2022 at 12:34 pm #665902Short answer: you have to wait
It says:
“You can only withdraw your exam after any rebook option has passed i.e. after the exam has been scheduled in the contingency week. You must also do so before the withdrawal deadline**.”
** is 21 September http://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/getting-started/important-dates.html
I suppose that is because they don’t want students changing their minds before the chance to resit has elapsed … as it says:
“It is not possible to retract a withdrawal request”
