Hi,
The company I have selected is involved in multiple businesses however I’m only focusing on one business area (which relates to 99% of revenue cause other two business segments are very small). In that case how can we do the ratio analysis? Do we use the figures as per the group or can we use the operating segment information. However in the operating segment information the BS doesn’t tally in the sense that only the total asset and total liability figures are given so we can’t exactly figure out the total equity value. If that is the case what should we do can we use the group information and do the ratio analysis or should we rely on the operating segment info. The same problem is there in my comparison organisation as well which is also involved in multiple businesses however there revenue is not solely reliant on one business area and relies on the others as well. Any advice or guidance would be highly appreciated.
Thank you
