Professor, I am able to understand all roles except one Monitor (Evaluator).
What is his work exactly?
He sees all option and judge them fairly. He suggests best option to team?
Moreover, Monitor should have control and performance appraisal of team as he is monitor after all.
From the Belbin.com website:
Monitor Evaluator: Provides a logical eye, making impartial judgements where required and weighs up the team’s options in a dispassionate way.
Strengths: Sober, strategic and discerning. Sees all options and judges accurately.
Allowable weaknesses: Sometimes lacks the drive and ability to inspire others and can be overly critical.
Don’t be surprised to find that: They could be slow to come to decisions.
I don’t think the ME evaluates team performance, but instead evaluates proposals and options.
Thank you professor.
