My name is Vaibhav and i am an ACCA student from India. I will be sitting for the AA exam in March 2022 and want to clear a small doubt. I have seen there are some changes to the ACCA syllabus mainly to the wordings. Could you please explain the direct and indirect controls and also it’s impact on the exam and how will it tested. And what do you mean by “wordings have been updated to reflect ISA 315?

For example direct v indirect controls is clearly headed on page 73 in Chapter 12.
At the bottom of my summary I explain for example that instead of a question asking for “key” controls (in a sales/purchases/payroll/other system) it will now ask for “direct” controls. It doesn’t change how it will be tested or the answer.
Because ISA 315 (Revised 2019) now refers to, for example, a “system of internal control” (rather than “internal controls”, “internal control procedures”, etc) these are just wording changes in the LOs – this should be clear if you look at the detailed summary of changes in the syllabus and study guide https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8/syllabus-study-guide.html.
