Does both occupational pension scheme contributions and personal pension scheme contributions increase the Basic tax rate band and Higher tax rate band? If so, how would your employer know to factor in personal pension scheme contributions when calculating your tax each month?

Have you watched the lectures in conjunction with your study notes where you would see the different treatment of personal pension contributions (PPC) and occupational pension scheme contributions – only PPC extend the rate bands.
