the explanation provided was this; Managers cannot delegate responsibility to more junior members of staff.
While the counter argument can be that authority is being also provided so responsibility can be performed
The statement is false because, as the explanation says, responsibility cannot be delegated.
Authority can be given by a manager to a subordinate (an essential step in delegation) but if the subordinate messes up the task the responsibility for the problem stays with the manager who either chose the wrong subordinate or didn’t explain the task or didn’t provide training or didn’t supervise effectively.
