    Sir I created this question

Apple company had 5000 employees at the start of the year . During the year 500 of them were left . At the end of the year there were 3500 employees.

What is the labor turnover ratio . ( expresses to the whole number )

When we consider the replaced figure as 500 then

Can you please explain this sir

Employees that should be at the year end is 4500
But employees at the year end is 3500

So what do we call this difference of 1000 employees

I have no idea where you found this question, but if they had 5,000 at the start of the year and only 3,500 at the end of the year then a total of 1,500 left during the year and none of them were replaced. I have no idea where you are getting the 500 from.

The question as you have typed it does not have a turnover ratio.

Yes – I did state that 1,500 left. Of course 1,500 left otherwise why did the number of employees fall from 5,000 to 3,500 ?? Maybe they all died, but even if they had died it would still be counted as them having left!!!

With only that information available then the turnover ratio would be zero (because nobody had been replaced). However that would never be the case in the exam.
