I’m considering taking AA and SBR in march Sitting. I would like to get advice on whether it is a good combination. And if possible advice on how long it takes to fully grasp SBR.
Based on my recent experience of another student sitting this combination I would not particularly recommend it. AA assumes the accounting and very basic financial reporting knowledge of FA(F3) – not even FR. Whereas SBR builds very much on FR assumed knowledge. I think it’s potentially quite easy to be confused/distracted by the different demands on FR knowledge at two very different levels. You don’t say what your alternative are.
See here for some getting started advice for SBR – https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/strategic-business-reporting/introduction.html – or ask our SBR tutor on the forum (when you have availed yourself of the ACCA resouces).
