The question states that business was purchased for 315000 which includes finished goods and raw materials 45000 (30000+15000). The production costs (5) are 2.5 , 1.5 and 1 for raw material direct labour and fixed overhead respectively.
Now this means that we had 6000 units of finished goods (30000/5) which have been purchased with the business.
In the solution part, why month 1 production units are 18,000 when they should be 12,000. (18000-6000 already exists).
And the labour costs have also been calculated based on 18000 production units, but the labour costs of the purchased 6000 units are already there in 315,000 purchase of business entered in month 1.
Isn’t this double counting ?June 22, 2021 at 9:11 am #626041It is from Working Capital chapter 10
June 22, 2021 at 3:04 pm #626107Sorry, but I do not have the Kaplan Study Text – only the BPP Revision Kit.
Maybe if you ask in the other Paper FM Forum then a student who does have the Kaplan text maybe able to help you.
June 23, 2021 at 5:48 am #626127No worries I will look into it. Thanks for replying.
If I study from the open tuition notes completely , will I face any major challenges in doing bpp revision kit questions?
Sometimes the Kaplan Study Text can be too time consuming and stressful, it repeatedly states the same fact atleast 3 times.June 23, 2021 at 8:08 am #626134You should not study just from the notes because they are only lecture notes. You need to watch the lectures as well, because it is in the lectures that I work through the examples in the notes and explain and expand on the notes.
The lectures (with the notes) are a complete free course and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well. If you are watching the lectures then you do not really need the study text.
When you have studied all of the topics then you should attempt all of the questions in the Revision Kit. If you have any problems with the questions then look back at the relevant lecture if it is simply that you have forgotten something, or otherwise ask in this forum and I will explain.
