I passed!!! So happy after so much anxiety.
Had really limited time for AA as I also attempted FR, so was extremely worried and felt a bit underprepared. But thanks to Opentuition tutor and his amazing notes and lectures, I passed first attempt.
    Thank you so muchhhh.

I passed with 66% first attempt!!! Thanks to open tuition for the resources and God of course! Also understanding the marker’s requirement proved to be very useful so I implore persons who will attempt AA in the future to spend time reading ACCA understanding the mind of the marker to view how questions should be answered.

I think you should focus more on understanding what the markers require for the different types of questions and not so much on the text books. Go on Acca website and go to the exam resources for AA and go through the past exam reports as well as read the mind of the marker. The ACCA exam resources are very useful especially for AA because book knowledge alone won’t make you pass if you don’t know how to answer the questions to the marker’s requirements.

For anyone unfortunate enough to have failed, don’t give up, this paper can be passed with the right approach. I agree with rowe992. Understanding what the examiner wants is key to this exam.the examiners reports and also the marking guides will help you understand what gets you a half mark and what gets you a full mark which is vital. You must also accept that the marker isn’t a mind reader! When you are debriefing your answers for the practice papers it’s easy to give yourself marks because you know what your answer means..a stranger may not. I discovered that when my husband (who knows zero on the subject) marked my paper, he gave me less marks than I had given myself. All he had to go on were the sample answers and the marking guide..and he never gave me any half marks..it was all or nothing. Afterwards we would sit down and discuss why he didn’t award marks and where I thought he should. This was an eye-opener! I thought I was answering the question but in reality I wasn’t giving the examiners the key info they wanted so this helped me focus my answers better. The only other advice I can offer is know the difference between an audit procedure and a substantive procedure cos they throw that in on occasion and it throws people off, always apply the substantive procedures to the scenario..this is the difference between nil or half mark and a full mark.you must understand the assertions so it doesn’t matter what scenario they give you.for the risks questions knowing the ias that applies to what is being misstated will also help you get full mark instead of nil or half marks. This paper isn’t easy there’s alot to learn but it is doable! Good luck to anyone who has to resit.

Passed with 57% on my 1st attempt. Best way to pass this exam is to focus on the past exams that are available on the ACCA website. The questions are repeating !

Passed with 80 on first attempt.
I went through past exam papers and BPP revision kit. Instead of doing excersises I went directly to the answers and wrote down substantive procedures for all types of balances /transactions and answers to all theory questions. As mentioned above these are repeating over and over and writing the summary really helps to see the whole picture.

Audit risk and control defficiencies are also repetitive and seemed very easy to begin with, so after reading some answers I understood what examiners want to see and didnt really went back to these topics. If these seems hard for you, then they also should be written down.

In the end for me it was important to learn theory answers and substantive procedures. Clearly understand the assertions and give as detailed answers as possible, better write too much (even if it seems silly when writing and you think youre writing super obvious things) that too little. + read the part about the ethics and associated risks for the first part of the exam.

Exam didnt have a single question that wasnt in my little summary 🙂

On the good side ..I love audit (planning to take AAA in the future).

    NOT HAPPY !!!

“I’m sorry to inform you that ACCA is unable to issue a result to you for your AA exam on 08/03/2021 which was sat remotely.

Please be assured that through the results finalisation process we consider all known factors impacting a student’s exam sitting prior to releasing results. This includes all information received and made available through the centre complaints and mitigating circumstances submission process.

Only after review and consideration of these factors do we determine if we can release a result to a student that we believe is a fair and consistent reflection on their exam performance.

Fail mark 44% on first attempt, I hate multiple choice questions, my head gets hurt after reading the answers I need to choose from and I usually stumble on their tricks to get me confused, I don’t know how to get good at these questions…

Passed first time 52% (I actually felt I did a lot better than this) so I must have got the wrong idea in a few big questions

    but a pass is a pass 🙂

I spent alot of time going over examples of prior year answers, I found the ACCA website useful for this. And tried to mirror their responses
