All new primary legislation must be compatible with the European convention of human rights .
This statement was in one in question in BPP . I thought it’s true but it’s actually false . Can you please explain
Hi
So yes when new UK Primary Laws i.e. Acts of Parliament are introduced, it is possible that some or all of it is NOT compatible with the Convention and that is rare but it is ok so long as their is some form of statement explaining this in the early stages of the law i.e. when it is a Bill.
I hope this helps confirm the position.
Kind regards,
Vijay
