Hi Dear Tutor, I have some questions.
When I see past paper questions besides 2020 ones, the exam questions were based on “deficiencies, consequences(implications or explanations) and recommendations(control procedures)” but in2020 exam questions I see” key control and recommendation”.my question is that has the examiner replaced “deficiencies and consequences” with the “key control”?
thanks in advance
March 31, 2021 at 12:21 pm #615599In short NO – there are two types of Q:
1. Find the weakness (“deficiencies”) -> Recommend to management how to overcome them
2. Find the strengths (“key controls”) -> What tests of control will show they are operating effectivelyThe distinction is of fundamental importance
– in 1. you are recommending what controls they i.e. MANAGAMENT should be implementing
– in 2. a test of control provides AUDIT EVIDENCEMarch 31, 2021 at 5:00 pm #615614now understood
