Hello,
I am currently studying for AA using Kaplan materials. In the text book there is an illustrative auditor’s report with the Basis for Opinion paragraph saying: We conducted our audit in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
In the exam kit there is an exercise with a requirement for critical appraisal of an auditor’s report and the basis for the opinion in that report is exactly the same as in the illustrative report in the text book. In the solution to that requirement they say that in the basis for opinion the auditor should identify the relevant ethical code (as per ISA 700) naming the IESBA.
If I am not missing anything, the materials from the same publisher are not reconciling – could you please advise?Thank you,
MariniMarch 7, 2021 at 3:21 pm #613861I presume you are studying for AAA rather than AA – in which case you will find on page 112 of our notes, which you can download from here https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa, an illustration which does indeed refer to the IESBA Code.
I cannot comment on a publisher’s content because I do not have a copy of it – perhaps the illustrative report indicates that it includes only extracts? I can only guess. If you feel strongly that you need to reconcile Kaplan’s content and cannot do I suggest you contact Kaplan directly.
