Sir should we record grant from revenue expenditure as income when the expense relating to the grant is incurred??
Sir can you please my question.
Answer yes – accruals basis – so it would be the net expense to the company that would be recognised in profit or loss. If the grant were to be received before the expense is incurred it would be accounted for as a credit balance – perhaps an “other liability” because it would be presumably be repayable if the expense for which it was received was not incurred.
Please note that this is a free service – not a 24/7 service – and I answer most posts within 24 hours but cannot always do so at weekends. I am based in the UK and tend not to be answering posts at 8pm at night nor before 9am on a Saturday morning – so you should also allow for the time difference.
Ok sir and sorry sir 🙂
You’re welcome 🙂
