Hi,
Have any other students using a mac had trouble with the ACCA on-demand practice tests? Every test I have tried (including the specimen) is not saving my answers. The progress bar shows that I am 0% of the way through the exam when I have answered several questions. I have sent a message to ACCA but the problem has not been resolved. I have been told to clear cookies and not to use a VPN. But as I don’t use a VPN and I regularly clear cookies, none of what they recommended has helped. I have also disabled all advertisement blockers and extensions on my computer in an effort to find what is causing the trouble. I do not think that this is caused by any lack of internet.
I have take the foundation papers FA1-MA2 and never had an issue before. I am now preparing for FBT.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please let me know. Thank you
February 22, 2021 at 1:25 pm #611311Just to confirm – you are talking about purchased practice tests? And you’ve checked web browser and enabled popups? https://www.accaglobal.com/ie/en/help/faq-practice-tests.html
Note that for the Specimen exam (full exam and extra MTQs) accessible directly from this page (not accessed through myACCA) https://www.accaglobal.com/ie/en/student/exam-support-resources/foundation-level-study-resources/fab/fab-pilot-papers.html there is NO save feature.
February 22, 2021 at 3:02 pm #611318Hi,
Thank you for looking into this.
Yes, I am referring to the purchased practice test. I have enabled pop-ups, but I am using Safari, which I see is no longer mentioned anywhere on the list. That may be the issue. It is possible that ACCA has changed the software because I have used this exam platform for a year and did not have this problem until now.
With the Specimen exam, it is no longer marking my answers as it used to. We used to see a green tick or red cross at the top left hand side of the screen, now I see nothing. It also says that I am 0% of the way through the test.
Thank you for your help, Christy
February 22, 2021 at 3:18 pm #611321It may well be the case that the platform for the earlier “foundation level” tests are different to those for FBT (formerly FAB), FFA and FMA as these are the same as for the ACCA Qualification BT(AB), FA and MA. Whenever I’ve had an issue with an ACCA platform it’s invariably been due to using edge or iE rather than Chrome – which seems to be the browser of choice for most things ACCA.
I just tried the BR full Specimen as per the link I gave above and for me it shows against the time remaining a green tick for correct answers and a red cross for incorrect answers – that works for me in both edge and Chrome.
I cannot try and replicate for practice tests as I do not have access to these.
February 22, 2021 at 3:25 pm #611324Hi,
Thank you for your help.
The problem must be that I am using Safari. I shall try download another web browser and see if that fixes it.
Thank you, Christy
February 22, 2021 at 4:56 pm #611338You’re welcome Christy – I’ll leave this post open and perhaps you can post here if that works – it would be useful information for anyone encountering similar issues.
February 24, 2021 at 1:56 pm #611553Hi,
I have downloaded FireFox and both the specimen exam and the on-demand practice tests are working.
I had posted the same question as the first one above on the ACCA Learning Community and another student replied to say that both she and the other students she knew were having the same problem. I also had a reply from ACCA on the forum who suggested downloading FireFox.
Thank you for your help, Christy
