    Merry Christmas!

BPP revision kit. Topic: Transportation documents and means of payment.

    1. Q: A bill of lading forms the contract of carriage. A: False. Explanation: A bill of lading provides evidence of the contract of carriage, but does NOT form the contract of carriage as such.

    2. Q: The bill of lading will provide evidence, or contain the contract of carriage. A: True. Explanation: The bill of lading will provide evidence, or may itself comprise, the contract of carriage.

Despite a slight twist in the wording, I don’t see any major differences in these two questions that have different answers!

    -Robbie.

Basically, the bill of lading does not in and of itself necessarily comprise the contract of carriage. It does provide evidence of a contract of carriage and may contain the contract of carriage. In other words each situation would have to be assessed on its own merits. Hope this helps.
