Hello sir, i would like to ask… if i only do the past paper from accaglobal website as my practice, is it sufficient? it consist of 13 set of past exam (complete set of 3-4 question in each set) from 2015 to 2020 including the specimen.
the sample answer that i will use for reference will be from kaplan kit as it answer has adapt to the current changes. Will this be sufficient to cover all topic for practice? i will start it after completing all your vid lecture. i will also read all the technical article and a few examiner report for the last 4years or more. Really need your guidance for reassurance.. i am attempting for this dec exam..
Given that you have the Kaplan Exam Kit, then you should attempt all of the questions in the kit.
This is partly because the more practice the better (and the ACCA website only has past exams from 2017, not 2015).
Also, where there have been syllabus changes over the years (albeit there have not been many) Kaplan adapts the question as well as the answer. So attempting the original exam question and then checking against Kaplan’s answer will end up causing big confusion for some questions.
i’m a retaker from sept exam. For the previous sitting, there is question available up to 2015 which i have printed before.
What i’m trying to say is i will do the question from 2020 to 2015. I will refer to kaplan kit for the exact question and answer for the time when it still p4 but the past year from acca website i will only use fully from 2018 onward (the date afm syllabus start).
the reason why i try to do like this is bcs i feel so relentless if i try to do all the question in kaplan kit and will only end up aim to complete all question instead of actually understanding the concept and how to tackle the questions.
After i have complete the question set that i aim to do, i will try to do additional question from kit for topic that i find hard to tackle for further understanding. i wont be able to attempt all question as i will be taking sbl paper too.
I’m so sorry if my question is too lengthy for you, i failed the past paper by 5 marks and i’m trying to plan my study for the best of both paper that i will be attempting. Pls dont get annoyed, i’m just trying to get assurance from expert perspective like you sir
Btw, for previous sitting i was doing a full self study by using kaplan text solely without any vid lecture, didnt manage to read technical article (which i really regret as there is bond yield question appear in prev exam),and i put my focus too much on hedging question, and end up losing my focus for other type of question.
