Hi Mike
Please help with the following two questions which seem to be similar but have different answers:
10.1 What is the minimum period of notice that an employee with 10 years of continuous service is entitled to?
A – 10 Weeks
10.8 If an employee has 10 years of continuous service with an employer, what is the minimum notice period that they need to give the employer if they decide to leave?
A – 1 Week
Does this mean they are entitled to 10 weeks but may leave after 1 week if they choose to?
Thanks for your help
Hi Zuzie,
Q10.1 is in respect of how the minimum notice the employer must give to the employee if they want to dismiss the employee.
Q10.8 is in respect of the minimum notice the employee has to give to their employer if they want to leave.
I hope this clarifies.
Kind regards,
Vijay
Thanks Vijay
Got it
My pleasure 🙂
