Hi there,
Firstly, a massive thanks to Open Tuition for its amazing resources. I’ve found them far, far superior to several other expensive methods.
I’m based in Ireland, and have completed the AB & FA CBE with my MA due in 2 weeks. As a next-step, I plan to start studying for the Corporate and Business Law paper. I’m really quite confused, however.
I am Irish and live in Ireland. I know that there are (have been?) Irish variant papers for law. My question is this:
1. Are there any reputable resources that can be purchased? (BPP, Kaplan etc.)? From my initial research, it doesn’t seem so.
2. Is taking the UK/Global variant a disadvantage for me? Would it mean that I may struggle in later Irish variant papers, such as TX-IRL or AAA-IRL due to a lack of foundation in Irish law?
3. What are your experiences?
In an ideal world, I’d love to buy a Kaplan/BPP studybook and kit and use Open Tuition. 🙂

An Irish variant is still offered. I believe the following book may be useful if you decide to do the Irish variant-

Personally, I undertook the Scots law variant and used a similar Scottish textbook designed for ICAS exams. Hope this is of some help to you.Hi Jon!
Thank you for sharing that link. Good to know there’s a Scottish version too. I lived most of my life in Scotland, but back in Ireland now. I like that ACCA in general is adaptable for various legal systems as well as in tax and audit.
I’ll check that out. For now, I’ve decided to go with the AA exam this December and I’ll aim to take the LW-IRL and TX-IRL next year.

Also be aware that you can only take the Irish variant in June/Dec,
If you want to sign of on accounts in Ireland you need to have the Irish variant of Law/TX.
i queried this with the Acca Ireland. From Research there is a lot of cross over with The English Varient too about 70% is the same for the exam.
