    Hi everyone!

I have decided to undertake the ACCA and wanted to get some clarification on when I can take the first three exams (Business & Technology, Management Accounting, and Financial Accounting). I understand that these exams can be taken “on-demand”. What does that entail? Does this mean I don’t have to wait until the standard Sep/Dec/March/June sittings to sit them?

Also, how many exams can I sit at once and what is the estimated time needed to revise each module (I have an Economics degree if that helps with the studying for it at all)?

Finally, I was planning on using the free online lectures and revision kits for sale from OpenTutition as my sole way of studying for the qualification- is this the right way to go about it? And would it suffice?

    Thank you guys 🙂

Welcome Zachary – there is actually a separate forum “New to ACCA?” https://opentuition.com/forum/acca-forums/new-to-acca/ where you will find many getting started FAQs answered.

ACCA exam methods are explained here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams.html

Progression rules are explained here it the “plan and book exams” section https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/enter-an-exam/exam-progression-rules.html

This is the gateway to all student study resources on ACCA’s www https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources.html bookmark it now. Select ACCA Qualification and from the dropdown list of exams, select the exams you are studying for. In the list of resources for each exam you will find a syllabus – if you skim read this you should get an idea whether topics are familiar to you already from your degree studies.

Yes re resources – it doesn’t matter so much for the first papers if an approved revision kit is not the latest, but once you get into the applied skills exams it is vital to have a current edition.
