Hello Sir,
I’ve recently failed AA with 49 and don’t know what to do
I really do struggle with practice and how to go about sticking to the process of practicing questions without feeling like giving up
I have 2 questions sir ,
1. Can you help me to find a way to stick to practicing questions even though I keep getting them wrong
2. I struggle with audit procedures even though I know the assertions and AEIOU , but come up with wrong tests , should I memorise all the procedures as I am not an auditor
Thank you
June 11, 2020 at 3:38 pm #573520Please see the sticky (*) post at the top of this forum “How to score marks in AA – essential guidance”. If you haven’t read this – ATTEMPT the Qs that are referenced at the beginning of the article (even if you have done them sometime before in the past) – make GENUINE attempts at them in the time allowed according to the mark allocations. Then read the article and apply all the information about how and why marks are and are not given to mark your own attempt.
Especially when you are really so very close understanding exactly what does and doesn’t earn marks is crucial to question practice.
Absolutely NO – do NOT try to memorise/learn procedures – rote-learnt procedures that are not applied to the specifics of the scenario will not earn marks – you will see examples of this in the article. Fewer RELEVANT answer points will earn marks – lots of IRRELEVANT ones earn nothing!
See also my post “NEW AA articles” for further exam technique guidance.
The best way to not get bored with practicing long questions is to treat yourself to the occasional OT-case question – also starred at the top of this forum I have flagged two new sets – and there is a further mock section A to do to time here https://opentuition.com/acca/aa/acca-aa-revision-mock-exam/
