The exam was difficult and a blast for me. I have to admit that I only watched half of the opentuition videos and remembered even less, not to say having practiced a lot of questions. from my limited knowledge on the F3 module and opentuition resources on the topic, I drew a conclusion yesterday during the exam that, relying completely on opentuition videos and lecture notes is definitely not enough for having a good score. you need more. kaplan or bpp, i don’t know, but you’ve got to have one because they have excessive details and ACCA exams test on how you can manage the details.
just make a comparison, 200+ pages of opentuition note comparing to 400+ pages of kaplan or bpp study text, a completely free of cost study material versus one set that costs you a hundred bucks to obtain(not completely judging the quality on price, though price does tell something).
I was interrupted during the writing so just let me summarise my points if I still can:
If you think studying ONLY on opentuition material is going to help you get a good score, think twice. There are other complementary materials you’ve got to look at. That’s the lesson I learnt from this exam yesterday. The questions were way much difficult and complicated that the examples in the videos and notes, BUT, I think opentuition materials is good resource giving you quickly an idea of what the subject is about.
Again, i’m not depreciating the value of opentuition, i’m just saying to be successful on acca exams, in my opinion, you need more.
