    Could you please explain how a balance score card could be used in the performance measure in a not for profir org. And the measures that might feature.
    Say for example in June 2011 question two if the question asked how a balance score card could be used for Beeland Drug Regulator which is governed by a board of trustees.

    In thee case study the following information is provided:
    The Beeland Drug Regulator (BDR) oversees this testing process and makes the final judgement about whether a product can be sold in the country.
    Its objectives are to protect, promote and improve public health by ensuring that:
    – medicines have an acceptable balance of benefit and risk;
    – the users of these medicines understand this risk-benefit profile; and
    – new beneficial product development is encouraged.

    The regulator is governed by a board of trustees appointed by the government. It is funded directly by the government and also through fees charged to drug companies when granting licences to sell their products in Beeland.

    Thank You in advance

    I don’t see that it’s much different from a profit-seeking organisation.

    Financial perspective: not profit, but living within its budget, using money efficiently, perhaps increasing the money charged to government and drug companies.

    Customer perspective: are the stakeholders pleased with the service given. Assess feedback, look at complaints, look at press comment perhaps.

    Internal business perspective: are its objectives being met? Have there been medicines that have caused harm? Is useful information published? How are developments encouraged.

    Innovation and learning: for example are new technology and scientific approaches being used. How many advances in techniques have been made.
