    Hi,
I find very difficult in doing past paper risk questions. I mean the past papers to dec 2010.
Are those questions out of syllabubs now?

I use Kaplan books. I can’t find any challenging calculations other than money market hedge receipts and payments (still easy) . PPP and IRP are very simple indeed. These are the only calculations to do in risk area kaplan books.
any one, any advice for me?

    many thanks

June 2012 risk question was a piece of cake. I would love to get a question like that.

Interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk are still in the syllabus – nothing has changed.

Interest rate risk can only be tested in written parts of questions – he cannot ask for calculations.

The only calculations he can examine for foreign exchange risk are forward rates and money market hedging. The rest of it can only be examined as written parts – no calculations – at F9.

That is why Kaplan only has calculations on the areas where the examiner can ask calculations 🙂

I am not sure which question you mean in June 2012. Risk was examined in two questions – foreign exchange risk in question 3 (but only 5 marks – it was not hard, but 5 marks means having to do it very very fast), also systematic risk/CAPM in question 4 (all writing, for 9 marks).

Thank you very much for the reply. June 2012 both the questions were easy but If we see question like Dec 08 -Boluje Co part (b) and part (C)(ii) and Dec 09 NG CO Part (a) and both the parts of (b) are very confusing, hence it takes so much time to do it.

    You are welcome 🙂
(and what you say about confusing and time is true!)
