Hmm… Well I have been preparing for the Audit and Assurance exam for the past 6 months given that I had failed in my first attempt I am trying again this time. I have read through and studied everything, gone through the mocks, the previous years exams,the notes, the textbook the exam kit both case studies and MCQs. Yet I feel really nervous. Well i’ll admit i’m not exactly good at identifying the risks within the scenarios which is why I went through each every possible case study available to me to make myself familiar with them however i’m freaking out about the scenarios that I may not have read through before or if they were to ask questions on areas that I’m not very familiar with. I’m not expecting to score high in this exam however I really wish to pass this paper. can anyone tell me what are my chances of passing this time.
“Read through” … “gone through” … have you actually sat a mock to time? (Including the Section A available on this www?)
No one can say what your chances are before you sit it – it always comes down to how you perform on the day. If you haven’t already done so please read the article linked under the starred post at the top of this forum: “How to score marks in AA – essential guidance”
Any lessons that you can learn from this article should help calm your jitters!
Regarding the mock exams, yes i have attempted them, twice to be precise, do i need to attempt more mocks? I have attempted the MCQs on this website, my score is quite average. For the previous exam i was short of two marks to pass the exam.
Actually my issue is i take a lot of time when it comes to reading the case study, i need to read it at least twice or thrice if there is a lot of content to understand what exactly is going on and to respond accordingly.
Which is one of the reason i find myself spending more time than necessary on the mcq questions for exams where the case studies are just to detailed.

Attempting as many Qs as possible in the allocated time AND reviewing your answers against model answers/marking guides AND reading the examiner’s comments (published for convenience at the end of the answer docs) is the best possible preparation at this stage.

(but if there are any recent past exams you have not yet attempted you should attempt those rather than mock exams)
