    Dear tudor,

please give guidance on exam technique specific for saving time in answering questions.

examples of acronyms and abbreviations which can b used. (ie is ppe acceptable to use instead of property plant and equipment? or mentioning IAS37 ‘Provisions’ instead of full name).

i am facing difficulties in giving proper answers with all points in time.

    Thanks!
    Nikolas

Of course you should use abbreviations. Even in letters, memos, reports and emails but before you use the initials / abbreviations you need to ask yourself if the addressee is likely to understand your abbreviations.

Even if the addressee is not likely to understand, you can still write something like “…..International Financial Reporting Standards ( IFRS ) ….” and then go on from there.

And use abbreviations which are pretty much standard so PPE is fine for Property, Plant and Equipment but PnT wouldn’t be OK for Postage and Telephone

dmwesigwa – what’s the matter with looking at a publisher’s answers? Or the examiner’s own answers? Or even reading the exam technique article on this site specific to P7 as well as a general article applicable to all ACCA exams? Or even watch the video of John and Mike talking about exam technique?

There’s surely enough already on this site to answer your question

Do you know, I really don’t know. I think it was from the exam after the pass rate fell to its lowest point about 4 ( 5 ) years ago
