Hi John
Q: The time taken to produce the first batch of 50 units was 500 hours. The total time for the first 16 batches of 50 units was 5731 hours.
The task is to calculate the learning rate (To the nearest %)
The answer = 92% but i’m totally stuck how to calculate using r4 method on my calculator. I use the casio calculator fx-83GT X model.
The question is in the Kaplan exam kit book and the answer uses the doubling tabular approach.
Can you help
Kind Regards

Alternatively when it is the 4th root, you can take the square root twice.
Alternatively you can take the number to the power 0.25 (you should remember from school that taking to the power 0.25 (1/4) is a way of getting the 4th root.
Otherwise you are going to have to find it in the manual for your calculator. If you have not got it then you will be able to find it on Google by simply typing in the model number.
