Hi. I plan to sit p7 for the coming dec exam. Are there any additional books you know of that I can supplement my BPP text to increase my understanding of the materials? As far as I know, there’s none recommended by the p7 examiner which is a bit strange.
I have no practical audit experience hence looking for something to assist my understanding of the syllabus.
Thanks in advanceJuly 13, 2012 at 3:51 pm #101915I think your best course of action will robably be to work through the revision kit from start to finish together with any / all other past exam questions that you can lay your hands on.
I’m not convinced that an additional text book will add more to either your knowledge or your understanding.
July 17, 2012 at 8:04 am #101916Thanks for your advice. I will try my hardest to start with the revision kit and work through it. However, I find there’s a huge conundrum with this method though.
1. When do i start using the revision kit? A.Right after completing (the first time) each topic of the textbook. B. Right after completing, revising and digesting each topic. or C. Only after completing the whole syllabus/book about a month before the exam( This is the way I have been using up till now).
My reason for using method C so far is because I find it unsettling when I see question parts related to subsequent areas I haven’t yet studied.I tend to get put off by things I don’t know yet.
Sorry for this rambling thread, sir. I hope you can help show me the way to resolving this dilemma. Thanks again.

July 18, 2012 at 3:31 pm #101918Are the Open tuition P7 notes enough to pass the AACA P7 exam. Assuming I use the Open tuition P7 notes and the Revision Kit extensively, can i pass the exam? Please help
July 18, 2012 at 3:33 pm #101919Sorry I mean ACCA.
July 19, 2012 at 5:47 pm #101920I would never recommend that you use just the course notes and the revision kit. The notes are a supplement to the study text and the revision kit is what it says – it’s for revision.
However, if you have no time to get into the text, then I suppose you MIGHT get away with just the notes and kit. It really depends upon you, your exam technique, your ability to determine exactly what Lisa is asking and then your ability to give her an answer in a clear, concise, professional and complete way.
In short, I cannot say other than it MAY be enough
