Hello Sir/Madam,
I have already started my P1 studies with the old 2015 syllabus and i dont have enough time to start my studies again the with 2019 syllabus and i would like to continue to carry on with my old syllabus. What i would like to know is until when do i have to take my exams with my old syllabus? You know, before the exams change according to the new syllabus. Are the changes drastic? can i still answer the exam with the old syllabus?August 16, 2019 at 12:35 am #527754Hi, thank you for your query.
The Cima syllabus changes over in November 2019 so the last exams you can take under current syllabus will be mid-/late October 2019 -exact dates depends on your country.
I can confirm however that the changes for P1 will be minimal & a candidate who is well prepared under the current syllabus will still fare well under the 2019 exam system. Some tweaks and updates but core knowledge from 2015 will stay the same.
Kind Regards

November 4, 2019 at 7:23 pm #551561Hi Cath,
Thanks for the post above. I attempted the P1 exam twice in October and marginally missed out on both occasions and so must begin the 2019 course now. It appears from your post, and from the CIMA link below that the changes are minimal. Could you direct me to any new areas or topics in the updated syllabus or is the content the same as 2015 and merely moved from one section to another?

On another note, are there any changes to the marrying scheme or is it still going he case that a mark of 100 is a pass. Many thanks for your help!
Regards

November 30, 2019 at 5:39 pm #554267Hi Sorry for the delay – always better to start a new thread – rather than continue somebody elses question – I didn’t see the update – I’m sorry
Yes the changes aren’t drastic. The link above takes you to the main differences.
Also Open Tuition notes have been updated to the new 2019 syllabus.
There is no change in marking scheme. From the top -of -my head – I can confirm that Quality costing & environmental costing have been removed from the syllabus. So has material mix & yield variances
Everything else remains examinable – but there are some smaller areas on digital costing/ digital products – using linear programming in digital age etc – that have been added to various chapters – these are all in the Open Tuition notes
Many Thanks
