    Hello,

ACCA published the new sylabus for Sep19-June-20, the changes to sylabus are highlighted on the last page

    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/SBL/sbl-syllandsg-sept19-june20.pdf

The best advice that comes to my mind is to:
    – try to solve the past exams, specimen exams, later analyze the answers – not only in their technical sense, but also pay attention to how they are written. Remember that you are expected to put the information forward, if you only cite the information available in the exhibits (without making any use of it), it usually scores zero,
    – when analyzing the answers, pay attention to how the technical marks are obtained, some of the answers contains the tables with examples,
    – examiners reports, read-the-mind-of-the-marker articles are helpful(link below),
    – Ken Garrett’s lectures on open tuition,

    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/prof/sbl/5154-Articles-SBL-Read-the-mind-of-SBL-marker.pdf

As for the exam itself, what helped me was:
    – making a plan (bullet point) at the beginning (in the answer booklet, I titled it ANSWER PLAN so that the marker wouldn’t confuse it with the rest) -> It helped me to structure my answers,
    – using the highlighter (only on question paper, it can not be done on the answer booklet) – but remember not to highlight too much, as this is a bit confusing,
    – paying attention to the way I present the information:
    – I practised my handwriting before the exam,
    – I made sure I put good headings,
    – I tried not to cram all my marks into one paragraph, but separate it into more, smaller paragraphs.
    – (one of my question was – how to make it easier for the marker to notice the points I made)
    – I also tried to sat a few mock exams (self-organized – I basically took one of the past exams/exams in my Exam kit and set up the alarm clock for 4 hours) – this helps you develop your best approach to sitting the exam,

I hope it will help 🙂

This is quite helpful – this article explains how the professional skills are marked (with examples)

    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/SBL/SBL-Professional-Skills-Marking-Guide.pdf

An article on forms used (reports, PIDs)

    This one was helpful too
