I wish I could say that OT was enough for you but …..

…. that would be dishonest

No-one has ever said that OT material is enough for any student to pass any exam. We are an add-on.

Having said that, there are undoubtedly some students who have passed exams purely on the back of OT.

But you need Revision kit from approved publisher!

OK, the notes are skeleton.

The lectures fill up the meat to fit on the skeleton

The exam question practice from the revision kits puts the finishing touches to the meat skeleton.

Get stuck into the lectures, following the notes as you listen. the lectures are not compllete and do not cover every chapter, so be warned! The lectures tell you which chapters / questions / answers you should be looking at yourself.

If / when you come across anything about which you are uncertain / confused – then look it up in a study text.

It is doable.

Keep in touch with other F4 students, join a study group, find a study buddy, post your questions on the forum …. whatever, it IS DOABLE

For F4, not much changes over time. If you can get hold of a study text, say no more than three years old, it will cover substantially the whole of the 2012 syllabus.

Importantly, you should check Student Accountant articles within that three year gap and, of course, attempt all the past exam questions from a revision kit ( or downloaded from the ACCA website of past examination questions.

I haven’t used opentuition notes for law so I can’t comment on that.

Start learning from the kit answers. These answers cover 90% of the syllabus.

Check pocket notes for additional theory. If you can’t understand certain topic in the pocket notes (since its not explanatory), ask a friend or post on opentuition for an explanation.

For this paper, every question carries ten marks. So for a given topic, you must have atleast ten valid points to write. Make sure that you can do that while preparing for the paper.

A void contract can not be ratified.Explain the four situations where the principal can adopt the contract.

The best strategy is to study, simple as that. There is no easy way out, which to me seems amusing reading some of the comments that appear on this site. It appears too often that so many would like things given to them on a plate (on a golden one at that!!!)… well, I have news for you… it is NOT like that in the real world! In the real world one needs (must) work for things in life.
ACCA is not difficult (really it isn’t!) but it is time consuming, so if you are serious about completing it and becoming a professional qualified accountant I suggest you study and study early (don’t leave it so late!), and also perhaps get your priorities right (vacation or study? you make that decision).

Furthermore, it makes a mockery of ‘quailified’ accountant when you have students who barely want to learn, pass on a thin thread by crashing 2-3 days before an exam, and basically who want the hard work done for them. Let me tell you… you are NOT the type of accountant that I would want working for me because your knowledge and commitment is just not up to standard. There is just no way I would trust you with my business. And sooner or later your abilities as a professional qualified accountant will be exposed as mediocre.
Wake up some of you and smell the roses!

Sorry about this harsh post… but I am sick to death of so many studends wanting things so easy, wanting things handed them. Try working for things instead, you might shock yourself!
