Brought about by an earlier comment, I would be interested to see what have been your easiest / hardest papers so far??

For me the easiest was F4, I managed to pass this after two days study (not recommended!)… F7 was the hardest by far!

I haven’t sat any Professional papers as yet however I would agree that F7 is the toughest. I didn’t think F4 was the easiest, possibly F5

Hey, I’ve been attempting f7 since Dec,09 continuously and still I haven’t passed it. I don’t know what goes wrong ? I am stoned, it’s not easy for me to understand why i keep on failing inspite of all the hard work. Please suggest me something, anything that you think could be helpful. This Acca specially F7 has driven me crazy :’-(
Those who started Acca with me qualified way back and till date I have managed to pass only 6 papers. F1-F6 :’-(
    Please Help !

Easy: P1 + P3 – had a go after 2 days studying for each and passed with not bad marks. I think people with lots of business / work experience have a potential advantage for these two papers.

Hard: F9 I found strangely difficult even though I work in investment banking and know derivatives inside out. But P2 was the hardest for me by a clear mile. I passed with 50% and honestly I’m really not sure how. I think the only thing that saved me was the fact I had sat F7 6months earlier (didn’t make it to F7 in two previous sittings due to last min biz trip and a funeral). Opening that exam paper and seeing two whole pages of financial statements and commentary made me want to cry! But think you just need to remind yourself when you start to panic that you don’t need 100 marks – you need 50;)

    Hardest – P7 with F9 a close second

Easiest – probably P5. Not that i found it easy just not on the scale of some others.

    Hi ALL,

i did this work to clear the air of the debate on hardest & easiest acca papers, also to help students prepare adequatly as they make right choice of paper at the P’level papers especially. the work cover 8 sittings covering June 2008 & December 2011.

Please pay attention to the last column, the average result over a period of 8 sittings.

from my analysis, paper f1 happen to be the easiest with an average pass mark of 69.5 while paper p7 & p4 happen to be the worst of all with 34.25 & 34.5 average scores respectively.
    .

    i hope it helps!

    Gabriel.

    Good stuff Gabriel,

From a personal point of view I would have said P7 was my hardest

But I would have said P4 was my easyiest. I think alot depends on your exam style too. I like the written exams where I can waffle on which is why I liked P4, also I found the subject matter intestesting so it was easyier to study.

    Dear

Pls if anybody can help me with this one. I plan to take P4&P5 as options, are these options good , is it manageable to study. or can I take p5&P7 or P4&P7. Which is the toughest combination to study. Thanks for your advise.

@arsalan: its not very clear why you haven’t been successful at f7 exams. Have you not understood the standards or have you not got enough practice?

@chouchou: learn the opentuition notes. Read carefully. Memorise everything. This is all you need to study for p3. Practice bpp kit (atleast the first two units and section A completely). This is to understand how to apply the knowledge and learn the style of writing. Read through mock papers, examiner articles and revise opentuition notes before the exam. Screw the study text and pocket notes. You don’t need them. Not for this paper.

Easiest: p1, p3 (least time to prepare required)
Worst: f9 (too technical and time consuming)
