Will my Experience be counted if I work with an unapproved ACCA employer ? There are many Chartered Accountant’s already working in that organisation but will they be able to sign me off even if the organisation is not approved my ACCA ?
Yes they will, but you will need to complete the PER statements and your Mentor who should be ACCA qualified will sign them.
If you work for a approved ACCA employer it just means that you do not need to complete the indivial PER requirements.- Topics: 7

I think PER is a form which must be filled by every ACCA trainee whether working with an approved or unapproved employer and send it to ACCA signed by an ACCA member or any other professional body so that ACCA can record their relevant experience. If I work with an Approved employer and not complete the PER requirements then how would ACCA know that I am gaining experience ?

Let’s clarify it for you.Those who work with ACCA approved employers fill in a special form called TDM exemption. You can check for it at acca website if u are interested. It is being signed by mentor. Thus they are exempt from PER.
Those who do not work with an approved employer need to achieve all the PERs. Each PER is a set of questions , which u can find in TDM . You need to asnwer those and then get them signed by mentor in TDM (as u register him as mentor , he will get his login and password to be able to access submitted answers).
There is absolutely no problem about working with unapproved employers. You just need to get a mentor who is qualifed either by the relevant body in your country or an ACCA qualified.
As u apply for membership you will need to provide document confirming your working experience and all achieved PERs (there is a paper form for PERs at ACCA website).- Topics: 7
