I really need an advice from all those who are attempting paper F8 For the december sitting.
I already started my F8 Revision two weeks back. I am reading the BPP text book, trying to understand the concept and learning the IAS. The problem is That i can’t seem to remember anything i revised after some time.
I can’t answer any questions in the BPP kit and in the past exams papers.
I’m kind of desperate here! I’ve been revising for 3 weeks and i can’t even answer a question correctly. I’m close to quitting.
So, can anyone advise me about the best methods to study for the F8 paper? I really need a pass in this paperNovember 25, 2011 at 12:56 am #90163First off, its the ISAs and not the IASs that you are learning. Secondly, you dont have to know the ISAs by heart, you just need to be aware of that they say. Thirdly, with auditing there is no one right answer, it is all about how you explain the material. When I did F8 (ages ago) I didn’t have much of a clue, or so I thought, but I answered based on my knowledge of auditing (which was all theoretical, since i did not even work in accounts) and I managed just fine. Just ensure you understand the purpose of an audit, the reason for the various processes which occur (steps in planning the audit, procedure employed in executing the audit, the completion stages, the role of the auditor and what the regulations say). You will be fine after this.
