Hi John,
In the exam will we be given all formulas or are we expected to learn all/some of them?
An example – I have reached IRR in my studies tonight and this formula doesnt appear to be given on the exam paper (assuming that the formulas given in textbooks are what appear on the exam paper?)
ThanksSeptember 12, 2012 at 4:53 pm #90107Your text book should have in it a copy of the formula sheet that you are given in the exam. (If you are not sure, if you look at one of the past exams on the ACCA website you will find the formula sheet there.)
They do not give a formula for the Internal Rate of Return. The reason is that you do not actually need to use a formula. If you watch my lecture on here you will see the way I do it, which is very easy. Once you understand what I am doing then it is easy to do and you do not need a formula!
If you prefer to use a formula then no problem, but you will then need to learn it.September 12, 2012 at 6:29 pm #90108Thank you John – will be reaching that lecture shortly 🙂
